Nine Calgary companies were among the winners of awards from the International Special Events Society (ISES). The honors were presented at the ESPRIT Gala, held during the ISES Live International Conference, which ran August 18-20 in Seattle, WA.
The Calgary winners are:
- Calgary Stampede brought home “Best Event for a Non-Profit Organization Between $75,000 and $150,000” for “The 2013 President’s Event.” Calgary Stampede event coordinator Tara Sweeney accepted the award. She said, “It feels surreal. It is an amazing honor to be recognized by our international peers. The Calgary Stampede thanks the Corporate Communications team. They led this event and it was their vision. We are so very proud!”
- POP Kollaborative Inc., Decor & More Inc., Orange Frog Productions Inc., Calgary TELUS Convention Centre, and Leblond Studio Inc. along with AOO Events (Los Angeles, CA), Audrey Gordon Parties (Chicago, IL) and BRAVO! Entertainment Productions Inc. (Dallas, TX) won “Best ISES team Effort Between $75,000 and $150,000” for “Society!”
- WestJet took home the honor in the “Best Corporate Event Over $150,000” for “A Night in Oz.”
- “Best Event Photography” went to Leblond Studio for its submission of WestJet’s “A Night in Oz.”
- “Best Technical Production” went to Mediaco for its submission of WestJet’s “A Night in Oz.” Due to its recent merger with Frishkorn AV, this is the last award the company will win under the Mediaco name.
“We were proud to see such a wide variety of projects and event professionals nominated for an ESPRIT award this year,” says ISES Calgary president Dustin Westling. “Every year, ISES Calgary members are highlighted in this international awards program as nominees and winners, and we as a chapter are thrilled to see that 2014 is no different.
