Event industry professionals representing some of Canada’s biggest expositions, trade shows and suppliers united to raise more than 31,000 pounds of non-perishable food donations for Daily Bread Food Bank and its network of 129 member agencies.
This massive food donation was organized by Lange Transportation and Storage who donated their time and resources to ship collection bins to Canadian Association of Exposition Management (CAEM) members, as well as delivering the food to Daily Bread – a four-day process.
The 31,000 pounds of food was raised by these CAEM members:
- Canadian National Sportsmen’s Shows
- Ensemble IQ
- Freeman
- Freeman Audio Visual
- GES
- The International Centre
- Landscape Ontario
- LANGE
- Metro Toronto Convention Centre
- National Event Management Inc.
- Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada
- STRONCO
The top three food-raisers were Freeman Audio Visual (12,130 pounds), GES (9,575 pounds) and The International Centre (4,125 pounds).
Since 1997, CAEM has donated 211,000 pounds of food to Daily Bread Food Bank, which provides food and support to nearly 200 programs across Toronto.
