Air Canada is increasing its new non-stop service from Vancouver to Brisbane, Australia on June 17, 2016. The service, which currently operates three times a week aboard a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, will start flying daily at that time.
“Customer response to our announcement of the only non-stop flights between Canada and Brisbane has been very positive, and we thank Federal Transport Minister Marc Garneau for the revised bilateral agreement which enables us to increase our presence in this important Asia-Pacific market,” said Benjamin Smith, president, Passenger Airlines, Air Canada.
“This expanded service also underscores Vancouver International Airport’s importance and attractiveness. The seamless connections made possible for visitors by its in-transit pre-clearance facilities, combined with our extensive domestic and U.S. network radiating from Vancouver, position Vancouver to be the preferred gateway hub for trans-Pacific travel to and from North America,” he added.
The new daily service will depart from Vancouver International Airport at 23:45 p.m., arriving in Brisbane at 07:15 a.m. (+2 days). The return service will depart from Brisbane at 10:40 a.m., arriving in Vancouver at 07:15 a.m. The flight times are designed to optimize connectivity to and from Air Canada’s North American network to Vancouver, while also offering excellent connectivity in Australia.
The carrier’s Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft features 20 International Business Class lie-flat seat suites, 21 Premium Economy and 210 Economy Class seats, all of which feature upgraded in-flight entertainment.
As a result on ongoing expansion, the carrier now provides scheduled passenger service to 63 ports in Canada, 52 in the United States and 86 in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Australia, the Caribbean, Mexico, Central America and South America.
In 2015, Air Canada launched new international services from key Canadian cities. New services include: Montreal-Venice; Montreal – Mexico City; Toronto-Amsterdam; Toronto – Dubai; Toronto – Delhi; and Vancouver – Osaka.
In summer 2016, the carrier will be launching 10 new international services: Montreal-Casablanca; Montreal-Lyon; Toronto-Prague; Toronto-Budapest; Toronto-Glasgow; Toronto-London Gatwick; Toronto-Warsaw; Toronto-Seoul; Vancouver-Brisbane; and Vancouver-Dublin.
