GLOBAL — As a way to address change and promote diversity and inclusion in the meetings and events industry, Black in Events, a global platform representing black professionals in the events industry, has officially launched its first-ever virtual event.
The event is set for August 19, from 12 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. and will include events professional speakers and strategists that will provide tangible solutions for event professionals and organizations. According to co-founders, Keneisha Williams and Ashanti Bentil-Dhul, Black in Events’s mission is to bring awareness and opportunities to a growing an underrepresented group who continue to contribute their service, dollars, and knowledge to a billion-dollar industry.
On August 19, you can look forward to hearing from Julius Solaris of Event Manager Blog, Mahoganey Jones of Event Strategist, Todd Hawkins of the Todd Hawkins Group, Corey McCarthy of Socio, and Hannah Jackson of Thriving Roost Wellness Collective.
Black in Events also said it will introduce its Black Voice In Events panel — an initiative it has created to giving a voice to black industry professionals to offer fresh ideas and perspective.
