The first property in Group Germain Hotel’s new Alt+ banner is now open in Brossard, on Montreal’s South Shore. The 168-key Alt+ Hotel Quartier DIX30 was designed by the Quebec firm LEMAYMICHAUD Architecture Design. It has six meeting spaces across almost 5,000 square feet.
“The creation of the Alt+ brand is the result of a strategic decision that aims to continually meet the expectations of our guests,” says Christiane Germain, co-president of Group Germain Hotels. “The new Alt+ Hotel is the perfect complement to a visit to the Montérégie region and Quartier DIX30, and we may eventually bring this new hotel banner to other cities in Canada.”
The new banner offers a unique accommodation experience thanks to its loft-style boutique hotel concept. Guests can choose from four room types:
- Studio (330 square feet with one king size bed and a bathroom with glass shower);
- Studio+ (405 square feet with one king-size bed and a bathroom with glass shower);
- Double Studio (470 square feet with two queen-size beds and a bathroom with a bath and shower);
- and The 2-Piece (a living room with double sofa bed and HD TV, bedroom with a queen size bed and HD TV, and bathroom with glass shower in a 470-square-foot space).
Each suite has a kitchenette featuring a refrigerator and microwave, basic tableware and cutlery, handmade tea towels by Montreal company Bigarade, Nespresso coffee machine with complimentary capsules, kettle with complimentary Camellia Sinensis tea and an ice bucket. Other room amenities include free WiFi, multipurpose table on wheels with ergonomic chair, HD TV with Chromecast device, vegan Ruby Brown bath products, in-room safe, and more.
The six meeting rooms are located on the 7th floor of the hotel. All offer free WiFi, state-of-the-art equipment (TVs, projection screens, multi-plug panels) and abundant natural light. The two smaller “creative spaces” (290 square feet and 475 square feet) accommodate eight and 10 people respectively. The largest room is 1,400 square feet and is suitable for groups ranging in size from 40 to 125 people.
On the f&b front, the property features a 60-seat ground floor bar/lounge. Bar Les Cousins by Atelier Zébulon Perron features a richly-coloured vintage/contemporary design aesthetic and serves carefully crafted cocktails prepared with local ingredients, several variations on the gin and tonic and local beers and wines.
Beginning in the fall 2018, hotel guests will be able to enjoy a meal at renowned Chef Normand Laprise’s Brasserie T. Adjacent to the hotel, Brasserie T will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner in addition to meeting the catering needs of special events taking place at the hotel
Reflecting Group Germain Hotel’s local purchasing philosophy, Quebec collaborators are involved in various aspects of Alt+ Hotel. For example, the uniforms worn by employees are designed by Montreal retailer Frank and Oak; the bath products are exclusive creations from Ruby Brown perfume house; and the dish towels – for the kitchenette in the rooms – are handmade in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve by Bigarade.
Located at the intersection of highways 10 and 30 on Montreal’s South Shore, the hotel is close to several shops, restaurants, theatres and recreation centres. This is Group Germain Hotel’s second property in the area following the opening of Alt Hotel Quartier DIX30 in 2007.
