MONTREAL — Air Canada announced on Sept. 23 the introduction of daily year-round flights from Montreal to Shanghai, China beginning Feb. 16, 2017. This marks Air Canada’s first direct service to China from Montreal as well as the introduction of Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft on flights departing from Montreal.

Tickets will be available for purchase on aircanada.com and through travel agents beginning Sept. 28. All Air Canada flights provide for Aeroplan accumulation and redemption and, for eligible customers, priority check-in, Maple Leaf Lounge access and priority boarding.
From Feb. 16 to March 12, 2017, flights will depart Montreal’s Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport at 1:30pm, arriving at Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport at 4:40pm (plus a day); and will depart Pudong at 6:15pm, arriving at Trudeau at 6:40pm. From March 12 to March 25, 2017, flights will depart Trudeau Airport at 2:30pm, arriving at Pudong at 4:40pm (plus one day); and will depart Pudong at 6:15pm, arriving at Trudeau at 7:40pm.
Effective March 25, 2017, flights will depart Trudeau Airport at 1:15pm, arriving at Pudong at 3:30pm (plus one day); and will depart Pudong at 5:05pm, arriving at Trudeau Airport at 6:40pm.
In Montreal, flights are timed to optimize connections to and from the carrier’s Eastern Canada and U.S. networks, including Ottawa, Quebec City, Halifax, N.S., New York and Boston.
In Shanghai, Star Alliance partners Air China and Shenzhen Airlines, along with Juneyao Airlines, with whom Air Canada will launch an interline agreement in the coming weeks, offer connectivity to domestic China destinations such as Chengdu, Chongqing and Shenzhen.
Air Canada’s Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft feature three cabins of service offering ergonomic seating and enhanced definition intuitive touch personal entertainment screens. Air Canada’s International Business Class cabin features 20 Executive Pods with 180-degree lie-flat seats in configuration guaranteeing direct aisle access. The Premium Economy cabin features 21 seats offering wider seats and greater legroom and recline as well as premium meals, complimentary bar service and priority check-in and baggage delivery at the airport. The Economy cabin has 210 slimline seats and individual on-demand entertainment system.
