Frequent flyer and loyalty brand Groupe Aeroplan has bought Carlson Marketing, a Minneapolis, Minn.-based loyalty marketing firm with strong ties to the meetings and incentive travel industry.
The $188-million purchase expands Aeroplan’s global business footprint significantly, though Carlson will operate as an independent company, with its executive teams remaining intact both north and south of the border.
