MEXICO CITY — Aeromexico plans to increase the number of flights it offers to its three Canadian destinations, beginning in December, it was announced Sept. 9.
The expanded service will start on Dec. 1 on the Vancouver and Toronto routes, followed by the Montreal route on Dec. 2. In total, Aeromexico will be expanding seat capacity to Canada by 47 per cent, to more than 9,900 seats per week.
Service will continue to be operated with the carrier’s 160-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft, with 16 seats in Clase Premier, Aeromexico’s business class cabin, and 144 in economy.
“Canada’s recent announcement to drop visa requirements for Mexicans, and Aeromexico’s interest in responding to the needs of our customers, encouraged us to add the new flights to further consolidate the airline’s presence in this North American (market),” said Jorge Goytortua, Aeromexico’s corporate sales director.

In 2012, the airline announced the most significant investment strategy in aviation history in Mexico, to 100 Boeing aircraft including 90 MAX 737 jet airliners and ten 787-9 Dreamliners.
