Marriott International has opened its first AC Hotel-branded property in Canada.
The new-build AC Hotel Montréal Centre-Ville is located on Boulevard René-Lévesque in downtown Montreal. Managed by RIMAP Hospitality Services Inc., it is housed on the first twelve floors of a 35-storey, dual-use high-rise building that also includes luxury apartments.
“We are delighted to welcome AC Hotels by Marriott’s first Canadian property to Montréal,” said Don Cleary, president, Marriott International, Canada. “AC Hotel Montréal Centre-Ville remains true to the brand’s philosophy, which centers on creating thoughtfully-designed moments that remind our entrepreneurial travellers to slow down and draw them into the present.”
Introduced to the United States in 2014, the AC Hotels by Marriott brand originated in Europe in 2011 as a joint venture with Spanish hotelier Antonio Catalan. It now offers a portfolio of more than 120 hotels in Europe, Latin America and North America.
AC Hotel Montréal Centre-Ville Highlights
The 169-key property has a sophisticated European-inspired aesthetic. Its oversized guestrooms have hardwood floors, large walk-in showers, floor-to-ceiling windows and 50-inch HDTV with HBO.
This simple, elegant design direction continues in the hotel’s 5,900 square feet of meeting space, which features 19-foot high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows that offer abundant natural light, and can accommodate 10 to 150 guests.
On the f&b side, the hotel has two restaurants and a lounge.
- AC Kitchen, which is suspended between the ground lobby and mezzanine level, is home to the brand’s signature European-inspired breakfast selection, including croissants, egg tarts and Nespresso coffee. The Berkel slicer, an AC Hotels staple, offers guests hand-cut meats including artisanal La Quercia Prosciutto from Spain.
- La Palma is a lobby-level restaurant helmed by Chef David Capel and featuring a Mediterranean-inspired menu.
- The AC Lounge is a creative communal space, serving tapas-style appetizers, crafted cocktails and a variety of wines and spirits.
Another notable feature is the 21-metre swimming pool on the property’s 12th floor, which is also home to a dry sauna, exterior terrace and exercise room.
