Nineteen Canadians are among the 169 meeting and event industry professionals who earned their Healthcare Meeting Compliance Certificate (HMCC) in the second half of last year. The certificate is endorsed by Saint Louis University and is valid for two years.
Meeting Professionals International’s (MPI) HMCC Program provides participants with the knowledge and experience needed to navigate the increasingly complex pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device regulatory environment. The intensive four-hour course covers compliance regulations, laws and techniques for managing healthcare meetings. Participants also earn clock hours or continuing education units.

As of December 2015, 665 individuals have successfully completed the HMCC program since its launch in 2013. To maintain the designation, MPI requires all current HMCC holders to attend the HMCC Refresher webinar at the two-year anniversary of their class date. The 90-minute course covers the constantly changing compliance regulations, cross-border compliance, CMS Open Payments changes and updates, the EFPIA Disclosure Code and other healthcare trends.
